Certainly an upgrade from the 5000. Robust, well-made, all the colours you'd ever need. Customers tell me their shirts are still going strong... 8 years on!
- Fabric 200 gr/m2
- Seamless twin needle 7/8" collar
- Taped neck and shoulders
- Twin needle sleeve and bottom hems
- Quarter-turned to eliminate centre crease
The Ultra T-shirt has been one of the best selling T-shirts in the UK and USA for over a decade and has been the breakthrough product for Gildan. Amazing colour consistency and colour choice. Made from 200 Gram a meter squared fabric, no nonsense classic american box cut and long lasting open end cotton. It sacrifices some softness out the box, to outlast ring-spun cotton T-shirts and instead - the Ultra T softens with age.

Love these tshirts for screen printing - plus, they come in Ice Grey a customer fav.
They feel a bit more luxurious than the Gildan Heavy's, the fabric feels it's a bit more substantial.
I think these are the best t-shirts on the market. We use both Fruit of the Loom and Gildan products, but definitely Gildan products are better. We use them for screen, vinyl and dtg printing and the results are awesome! :)
Gildan Ultra Cotton/Dryblend G2000 are a great t shirts, they are also exceptional value for money, they wash extremely well and they are perfect for heat transfer (vinyl or transfer paper). Please add one to you order to sample, im sure you will purchase again. 10/10 from me.
I have used a range of Gildan shirts from PAG and elsewhere including SoftStyle, Premium Cotton, Heavyweight (5000) and others (mostly sent to me in error by crap suppliers), the 2000 I have decided is the best (although all are brilliant). Because vinyl has quite a heavy weight compared to screen inks, about the same as plastisol, it is better "hung" on a thick shirt like this. For example an L to XL shirt weighs in at about 250g!! I know because I ship them all the way to the states (where weight matters for postage!). White and black looks striking against these bold colours.
Because the shirt is not pre-worn (but is preshrunk), it seems there are less loose fibres for vinyl to "vecro" away from on corners (peeling being the worst defect of poorly made vinyl Ts) and the resulting texture with a decent press (I use a Stahls) is very nice (more of a "stitch" to press into than smoother, softer shirts - but this is still lovely fabric!) appearing very close to screenprint but far more durable. The combination looks and feels premium -
I have had nothing but compliments using this stock from customers. Definitely the way to go over other brands i.e. Fruit of the Loom. Not to mention Gildan's sustainability and track record.
I bang on about these shirts in pitches all the time, you won't be disappointed. PAG always deliver nicely folders/rolled shirts with minimal creasing too - these shirts (in the box cut) lay down really flat to apply your decal or screen, and the classic shape makes it easier to register. DPD takes care of your stock. And the pricing is just the icing on the cake, giving my small studio a handsome margin.
Just perfect really. Plus loads of colours.
